How Elintree Upgraded Incontinence Pads for a Venezuela Distributor
In 2025, a healthcare distributor from Venezuela contacted Elintree through Alibaba.
At that time, they were looking for a better solution for their incontinence pad products.
They told us that their existing pads performed reasonably well during cooler seasons, but problems appeared during the hot summer months.
Because of the high temperature, some users felt the pads were too warm and uncomfortable after long-time wearing. They also received complaints about skin discomfort caused by moisture buildup.
Another challenge was absorption capacity. Their existing pads could only absorb around 150ml, which was not enough for users with moderate or heavier incontinence.
They wanted to develop a thinner pad with better absorption and comfort, especially for hot weather markets.
After understanding their requirements, we first sent samples from our existing product range.
The customer liked the softness and overall comfort, but during testing with faster urine release, they found that the liquid did not spread quickly enough and there was still a risk of side leakage.
Based on their feedback, our engineering team adjusted the product structure.
First, we improved the leakage protection.
Two elastic 3D side barriers were added on both sides of the pad. The new design helps the pad fit closer to the body and provides extra protection when urine is released quickly.
Second, we improved the absorption performance.
By optimizing the topsheet and absorption structure:
- Absorption speed improved from 30 seconds to 10-15 seconds
- Rewet reduced from 4.5g to 0.3g
This helped keep the surface drier and improved wearing comfort.
Third, we redesigned the materials for Venezuela's hot climate.
The original product used regular nonwoven fabric.
We upgraded it to soft air-through nonwoven with pearl embossing, which provides better softness, faster liquid penetration, and improved airflow.
The backsheet was also changed to breathable PE film to reduce heat and moisture buildup.
Finally, based on the distributor's market needs, we developed three absorption options:
- 300ml for light incontinence
- 600ml for moderate incontinence
- 1000ml for heavy incontinence and overnight use
This allowed them to cover more users with one product series.

After receiving the second round of samples, the customer was satisfied with the improvements and confirmed that the new design solved the main complaints they had received from end users.
Since then, they have placed three repeat orders with Elintree.
For us, this project was not only about producing an incontinence pad, but helping a partner improve their product based on real market feedback.
